HELENA -

John Finley, Jr., the man who led law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase through Helena last month, has been caught.

Finley was taken into custody at around 4 p.m. on Thursday on the north side of Missoula.

The Missoula Street Crimes Unit became aware that Finley was in the area through a drug investigation.

The FBI Multi-Regional Violent Crime Task force issued an alert to other patrol divisions with Finley's photo.

Officers were dispatched to a suspicious activity call where Finley was identified and arrested without incident.

On March 20, Finley led officers on a chase after Helena Police tried to make a traffic stop.

A Montana Highway Patrol trooper spotted Finley and followed him into the Leisure Village mobile home community off of York Road.

Troopers found his vehicle in front of a residence, but never found Finley.

Finley has three charges in Lewis & Clark County: two outstanding warrants for bail-jumping and failure to appear, and a petition to revoke sentence.

He faces two new charges from in Missoula: identification theft, and obstructing a peace officer.

Finley is being held in the Missoula County Detention Center.
