GREAT FALLS -
"Curiouser and Curiouser" - a new attraction has come to Great Falls, and it's about to take guests on a trip down a rabbit hole.
Escape rooms have become a growing attraction in the state with locations in Belgrade, Missoula, Billings, and now Great Falls.
Owner Jen Bostick says their room, called "Escape The Falls," aims to entertain ages 14 and up at 511 Central Avenue.
Bostick says they came up with the "Alice in Wonderland" themed room after throwing around several other ideas.
She says their plans are building toward two more themed escape rooms, including a mystical train station with creatures.
When guests visit, they are put into a room and must work together as a team to figure out how to get back out of the space using clues, puzzles and riddles.
Bostick says they've been hard at work for the past two months, putting together the finishing touches while hiding the last of the clues for guests this weekend.
"In this room, they have to help Alice figure out where the crown is and who stole the crown in order to get out of the room," said Bostick.
Escape The Falls will be conducting run-throughs over the weekend.
Bostick says if all goes well, they plan to officially open the weekend of May 5th.
Bostick says admission prices vary from $18 - $20 per person.
She says a price for children under the age of 14 is yet to be set.
The "Escape The Falls" page on Facebook explains:
Real-life room escape games are a type of physical adventure game in which people are ‘locked’ in a room with other participants and have to use elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles, find clues, and escape the room within a set time limit. Games can have an assortment of fictional settings and are popular as team building exercises.
Escape rooms require teamwork, communication, and delegation as well as critical thinking, attention to detail, and lateral thinking. They are accessible to a wide age range of players and do not favor any gender; in fact, the most successful teams are those that are made up of players with a variety of experiences, skills, background knowledge, and physical abilities.
