GREAT FALLS -

Dutton Volunteer Fire & Rescue will host a gopher shoot fundraiser on Saturday, June 3rd.

It will be at the Dutton Pool Park from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; registration will begin at 7 a.m.

The cost is $30 per 2-person team.

Prizes will include a Ruger 10/22 rifle package, 22 ammo, and more.

They will also be hosting a family BBQ, and a silent auction at 5:30; paid teams eat free.

All of the proceeds from will go toward purchasing a thermal camera, and updating equipment for the Dutton Volunteer Fire Department.

DVFR says that the thermal camera will be extremely helpful to the department in determining where hot-spots are in fires, making sure they can prevent them from flaring back up and becoming a hazard.

The rest of the funds will go toward replacing old and outdated protective equipment. They say that a lot of their equipment has unfortunately reached the end of its useful life.

The Dutton VFD has a long history serving our community’s needs. In order to continue to serve, and be safe ourselves, we are asking for your support.

For more information, call Fire Chief Jeff Horak at 406-564-0756, or Assistant Chief Evan Gouchenour at 406-450-6529, or click here to visit the event page on Facebook.
