Fond memories of Eddie's Supper Club

Eddie's Supper Club, a decades-old restaurant on the east side of Great Falls, has been sold.

The restaurant, located at 2nd Avenue North and 38th Street, had been for sale for some time, and rumors had been circulating in recent days that it had been sold.

The Newman family confirmed the sale on Sunday.

The restaurant featured a variety of menu items, from "campfire steaks" to seafood and burgers.

Many customers also enjoyed the piano bar.

We have received reports from reliable sources that the new owners plan to turn it into a sports bar, but have not yet been able to independently confirm that.

The sale listing for Eddie's stated:

Building built in 1967. Occupancy 266. Spacious building is currently a family owned restaurant/Bar. The restaurant name is not included in the sale. Building will be sold "as is." It can be used as a functioning restaurant or building can be turned into whatever buyer desires. Would be a perfect spot for a Sports Bar as is lacking on this part of town. The east end location is growing with the new addition of Walmart being built. Price can include building only with property or building, property and full all beverage liquor license. Equipment, fixtures, furniture is all included in sale. Building, acreage and all beverage liquor license negotiable.

The Newman family shared the following message on Facebook on Sunday afternoon:

So with a heavy heart I am sad to say that we have been sold. This is probably one of the hardest things, we the Newman family, has ever had to tell people. We have the greatest employees and very many long-standing customers who we will miss terribly. It's been 73 years ago that our Grandparents, Eddie and Pauline, started on this wonderful adventure. The lights will go dark late on the evening of Saturday, June 24th. We will be celebrating our business on Friday and Saturday(June 24-25). Please come in and share your memories with us all.
Thank You,
The Newman's

Once news of the sale was reported on Sunday, people began posting on the KRTV Facebook page some of their memories; here is a sampling.
