MISSOULA -

A tea company in Missoula is partnering with the University of Montana for a photo exhibition and tea tasting Friday night to discuss elephant friendly tea.

The Lake Missoula Tea Company’s event includes tea samples and a photography exhibit featuring globally endangered Asian elephants in the tea plantations of North East India.

You can learn more about the stories of rural villagers in tea growing communities through photographs revealing daily struggles and beautiful moments in a place where elephants roam.

The event runs from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the tea company’s shop on East Broadway in downtown Missoula. If you can’t make the event, you can still check out the photos at the shop throughout the entire month of June.

Lake Missoula Tea Company Botanical Lead Christina Bovinette says the project is part of a University of Montana partnership with the Wildlife Friendly Enterprise Network that promotes wildlife conservation through enterprise incentives via a Certified FriendlyTM Tea program.
