No serious injuries in overnight fire

GREAT FALLS -

Emergency crews responded to a fire near downtown Great Falls on Monday night.

The fire was was reported at 11:08 p.m. on Monday.

The fire broke out in an apartment building at 108 9th Street South, across the street from Sun Cleaners.

Residents were quickly evacuated by neighbors, and there were no serious injuries;

One person was reportedly taken from the scene for medical treatment of what is believed to smoke inhalation.

Firefighters quickly got the situation under control.

Witnesses said that there were flames inside the building.

Police have blocked off 9th Street from 1st Avenue South to 2nd Avenue South, and traffic is being detoured.

There is no word yet on the dollar amount of damage.

Firefighters are investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
