An hours-long standoff in Great Falls ended peacefully with one person in custody.
The name of the person taken into custody has not yet been released, nor have details about the incident.
The incident began with a report of a possible break-in at a home on 20th Avenue South.
Police officers responded to the area and quickly blocked off several streets.
Several officers had their weapons drawn during the incident.
At one point, people living in the area were advised that they could safely evacuate.
Sergeant Jim Wells of the GFPD said, "We've contacts all the residents in the immediate facility and given them an opportunity to leave."
When asked if they've left, Wells said, "Most of the ones I'm aware of."
The GFPD's High-Risk Unit vehicle was also dispatched to the area as the standoff continued. The Salvation Army's "Sally One" mobile food truck also responded to provide first-responders with refreshments.
Just after 3 p.m., officers began using an bullhorn (amplified microphone) to order the suspect to come out.
A few minutes later, the suspect was seen being taken into custody and placed into a police car.
