Benefis Peace Hospice is one of 13 charities to receive a gift of more than $49,000 from the late Great Falls resident Mary Jane Newcomb.
The donation will help Benefis Peace Hospice continue to provide care to terminally ill patients at the 20-room Residential Facility.
According to Benefis Foundation Executive Director Marilyn Parker, Benefis Peace Hospice is thankful for Newcomb's devotion to supporting the community.
"This important gift will help ensure the services offered at Benefis Peace Hospice will remain available far into the future, and for that, we are incredibly grateful," she said.
A press release states that Mary Jane (Fey) Newcomb was born and raised in Great Falls and was a happy-go-lucky person who cared deeply for others.
The Great Falls community was very important to her and she was intent on making a difference in it by giving generously through her will.
She chose to give to charities that she was passionate about and knew would help many people.
Newcomb passed away at the age of 94 in 2016.
