Margaret C. Throckmorton, 97, of Great Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 16, 2017 surrounded by love at Grandview Reflections. A private family service will be held for her in the summer of 2018.

Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who brightened the lives of all those lucky enough to know her. She possessed a quiet dedication to her family and friends that remained strong throughout her life.

Margaret was born on August 10, 1920 on her family’s farm in Kremlin, Montana to August Berg and Margith (Skjoldhammer) Berg. She was the ninth of ten children.

She attended Kremlin Grade School and Havre High School — where she lived with Havre families while working for room and board in order to earn her high school diploma.

After high school, Margaret went on to receive her RN degree from Columbus Hospital School of Nursing in Great Falls.

After raising her children she returned to work at Columbus Hospital and was proud to have taken part in the hospital’s move from its 2nd Avenue North location to its new 15 Avenue South location.
