Missouri Valley Marketing hosted its first 3K Zombie Run/Walk/Crawl on Sunday in Townsend.
Eighty people registered for the run and 40 volunteers assisted with the activities.
The event was similar to flag football as the 'zombies' would chase the 'living runners' to take their 'life,' which was a flag.
Local bars and restaurants served zombie-themed drinks and an after party was held with free pizza and cupcakes.
Organizer Nicole Brown said she was overjoyed with the turnout as it was the first year the event was held.
"It's been so great to see the turnout and see everyone here having fellowship and spending money at our local establishments," she said. "It's the best."
The Zombie Run/Walk/Crawl's purpose was to provide a family-friendly event that would also bring commerce and interest to Broadwater County in the fall.
