NorthWestern Energy has confirmed that a power outage is affecting some areas around Great Falls.
We have received reports from people just north of town along Bootlegger Trail and also in Black Eagle that they are without power.
There is no word yet on the cause of the outage.
NorthWestern Energy estimates that 447 customers have been affected. "Customers" often refers to a business or a residence, so the number of people without electricity is often much higher than that figure.
NorthWestern Energy estimates that power will be fully restored by 9:12 pm.
People began posting messages about the outage on the KRTV Facebook page at about 6:50 p.m.
Safety reminder: if traffic lights are not working due to a power outage, the intersection must be treated as an all-way stop.
