This week's One Class At A Time recipient highlights the importance of special education materials for students with behavior needs.
Behavior Intervention Teacher at Riverview Elementary School Kelci May received a check for $250 from KRTV and First Interstate Bank.
May says the grant will be used to purchase an extra iPad as students can sometimes struggle with pencils and writing.
She says iPads allow students to complete a preferred activity while doing school work at the same time.
The grant will also purchase noise-cancelling head phones and sensory learning material for 2nd through 5th-grade students.
"Sensory boxes or things that they can play with and touch that kind of calm them down when they get angry or escalated," May explained.
