"Food For Fines" on Friday in Great Falls

Great Falls Municipal Court will once again host a canned-food drive to let people earn credit toward fines.

A press release from the court states that for people are making monthly payments on fines, the canned food drive is set for Friday, December 1st, from 7:00 am – 4:30 pm.

If you bring 10 cans and/or boxes of food, it counts for one $50 monthly payment. (No, you cannot bring 20, 30, etc. cans and have it count for over $50. No matter the number of cans you bring, you only get $50 credit.)

In order to participate, you must:

  • Be current on your fines
  • You must have fines in this court
  • If your balance is only restitution, you may NOT participate
  • Not have an active warrant 

All food items donated during the event must be non-perishable.

Donated food will be given to the Great Falls Community Food Bank.

Donated items will not be returned if it is determined defendants are not eligible. 

Not valid for deferred prosecutions; other restrictions may apply.
