The Black Eagle Volunteer Fire Department swore in Michael Deshayes as their newest fire chief on Tuesday evening.
Deshayes joined Black Eagle Volunteer Fire in 2004 and has been a volunteer firefighter for 14 years.
He was named assistant chief to the department in 2015.
Deshayes takes over for Tom Martin, who passed away in August.
"I hope that I can continue his legacy and hopefully close some doors that he opened that he wanted to get things going," Deshayes said of Martin. "Like our new property with our new station. Hopefully down the road I can make that a dream come true for him."
Black Eagle Volunteer Fire also swore in Shaun Russell as Assistant Fire Chief.
Dan Vanisko, Jason Rothrock, and Logan Wolthuizen were promoted from probationary status while Rob McCaslin, Dusty Thompson, and Tyler Penney were elevated to officer positions.
