(BILLINGS) Anthony William Felton, the man accused of stealing an ATM from a Billings hotel, was recently charged with a felony for allegedly stealing 29 firearms from a home in the Heights.
Felton, 26, was charged in Yellowstone County Justice Court with one count of burglary on November 6.
He was charged Monday with stealing an ATM containing $1,360 from La Quinta Inn and Suites in Billings.
Billings police were called to a home on the 1300 block of Hardrock Lane in July for a reported burglary.
The residents of the home said they’d been out of town for the weekend and returned to find 29 firearms were missing from their home.
The metal safe that had housed the firearms appeared to have been pried open, according to court documents, and there were several tools next to the safe.
An informant told officers it was Felton and a woman who broke into the home and stole the firearms.
Officers believe the suspects gained entry to the home through the dog door, according to court documents.
The stolen guns were being sold in the Billings area, according to police. Some of the stolen firearms were recovered.
Felton allegedly told the detective that he was addicted to methamphetamine and spends about $200 each day on the drug.
Felton also disclosed that his addiction has caused his life to “crumble.”
After speaking further with the detective, Felton allegedly admitted he and a friend entered the home through an unlocked garage door and stole the guns.
Months later, Felton was identified as the suspect seen on surveillance video stealing an ATM from the La Quinta Inn and Suites.
Felton allegedly worked on removing the ATM for four hours, eventually freeing the machine and carrying it out of the hotel.
Felton is being held at the Yellowstone County jail on $40,000 bond.
