Road conditions and weather update (Fri Dec 22)

Posted: Dec 22, 2017 9:44 AM Updated:

The STORMTracker Weather Team is predicting more snow and even colder temperatures.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most of central Montana through Friday.

It means wintry weather is expected to disrupt travel and make driving difficult at times.

Light-moderate snow is expected through Friday morning with the snow tapering off late Friday.

3-5" of snow is expected across central Montana with 5-12" of snow falling in the mountains.

Very cold air will move into Big Sky Country just in time for Christmas.

Temperatures will fall throughout the day on Friday as north winds drive in that colder air.

By Saturday morning, most cities will drop below zero with wind chills nearing -20°.

Highs are expected to range from the single digits above zero to the upper teens through Christmas Day.

Hazardous driving conditions are reported in many areas, with numerous slide-offs and minor crashes.
