STORMTracker meteorologist Mike Rawlins says the snow will ramp up in intensity heading into Friday evening. Snowfall rates of 1" per hour are expected, which will lead to a rapid deterioration of road conditions.
Winds are also expected to increase, which will create whiteout conditions for drivers and may make driving nearly impossible Friday evening into early Saturday morning.
Winter Storm Warnings continue through Saturday for most of Montana.
An additional 5-8" of snow is expected at lower elevations, with 8-12" still on the way for the mountains.
