A Miles City woman died in a multi-vehicle crash east of Forsyth on Saturday morning.

Montana Highway Patrol dispatch reported the woman was driving a Nissan Maxima west on Interstate 94 when another vehicle in front of her lost control and veered off the road and struck a guardrail.

The woman slowed to avoid the vehicle and was rear-ended by a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The collision caused the woman to be thrown from the vehicle. She was not wearing a seat belt, the report stated.

MHP reported she succumbed to her injuries.

Two passengers were also injured. The extent of their injuries were not available in the report.

Initial investigation has ruled out speed, drugs, or alcohol as factors in the crash.

The woman's identity has not yet been released.
