Craigie pleads guilty to assault charge

A man charged for a stabbing in downtown Great Falls in September entered a change of plea in court on Wednesday afternoon.

Phillip Craigie pleaded guilty to one count of assault with a weapon.

According to court documents, the Great Falls police responded to a stabbing at Park Manor on September 25. 

Police obtained security footage, which showed another man identified as Samuel Darling leaving Park Manor with the victim.

The victim was ambushed in the alley and the footage shows Phillip Craigie wielding a knife.

Craigie's wife Samantha was identified as driving a vehicle into the alley during the assault.

According to the plea agreement, the state will recommend 15 years to the Montana State Prison with five suspended.


(OCTOBER 19, 2017) Phillip Craigie and Samuel Darling both plead not guilty to assault with a weapon on Thursday for a stabbing in downtown Great Falls last month.

According to court documents, the Great Falls police responded to a stabbing at Park Manor on September 25. 

Police obtained security footage, which showed Darling and the victim leaving the Manor.

The victim was ambushed in the alley and the footage shows Phillip Craigie wielding a knife.

Craigie's wife Samantha was identified as driving a vehicle into the alley during the assault.

Trials for Darling and Craigie were set for January 29.

Samantha Craigie did not show up for her arraignment on Thursday morning.
