Man found dead on railroad tracks in Missoula identified

(UPDATE, 3:05 p.m.) Authorities have released the name of the man who was found dead on the railroad tracks in Missoula on Sunday.

Missoula County Sheriff TJ McDermott said Robert Kalanick of Missoula died after being hit by a train.

Kalanick was 26 years old.

Kalanick's body was found by Montana Rail Link on a section of tracks between Orange and Van Buren streets.

The Missoula Police Department is investigating the death.

(June 10, 2018) A body was discovered by Montana Rail Link on the railroad tracks between Orange Street and Van Buren Street in Missoula early Sunday morning.

The Missoula Police Department responded and is investigating the incident in conjunction with the Missoula County Coroner's Office.

It is unknown at this time if the incident involves a suicide.
