Shannon produces and co-anchors the 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. news weekdays on KRTV. Throughout her time at KRTV, Shannon has worn many “hats.” First starting as a news intern in the summer of 2005, she returned in the summer of 2007 as the weekend weather anchor. After graduating college in 2008, Shannon returned to KRTV as a part-time morning weather anchor. Since then, her roles and responsibilities have grown.
She spent three and a half years waking up “dark and early” for Montana This Morning to give the morning forecast and eventually produce and anchor the show, as well as reporting. In 2010, Shannon was nominated for an EB Craney award for “Weather Personality of the Year.” In 2012, Shannon exchanged the early mornings for late nights to report, produce and anchor the evening shows.
One of Shannon’s favorite parts about her job is the opportunity to be involved and have a positive influence on the community. Over the years, she has had many fantastic chances, thanks to her job, to serve including as an emcee for the Beautiful Minds Walk and Race for the Cure, speak to Havre’s Leadership High School students, interview Ted Turner as part of MSU Northern’s commencement ceremony, co-host the Shodair Children’s Hospital telethon, speak to high school students in Law Related Education classes, among other opportunities. She currently serves as a board member for Habitat for Humanity Great Falls Area and is a volunteer youth group leader at First Alliance Church.
Originally from Kansas City, Shannon moved to the Hi-Line for high school, graduating as a Havre Blue Pony. She continued her education and ran cross country and track as a proud Pirate of Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington. She loved every minute of college, graduating with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and minors in Leadership Studies and Psychology.
Shannon is an avid sports fan (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!), loves to travel, run, ski, ride horses and all kinds of adventures.
