Cornelious Walter Bottomley Jr. (Scotty) passed away the evening of January 7, 2021.
Scotty was born in Farmville, Virginia to Sandra Jean Sutton and Cornelious Walter Bottomley Sr. on February 27, 1971. After graduating high school, Scotty joined the Air Force in 1989, then went on to join the Air National Guard in 2001. Scotty served his country for 23 years, and in April of 2018, he retired as a Master Sergeant from the Montana Air National Guard. Scotty was respected and celebrated by those he served with. His magnitude of friendships made during his service carried with him after his retirement.
Scotty married Naomy Leni Jurich in 1993, and welcomed their first daughter, Megan Bottomley in 1995. In 1996, their daughter Brittany Alexander was born. They spent 20 wonderful years together. Though Scotty and Naomy separated, they easily maintained a genuine, close friendship.
The great outdoors called to Scotty. He spent his time riding motorcycles, boating, fishing, and being with friends. Scotty was always game for boat rides on the lake, riding his motorcycle up muddy hills and celebrating the 4th of July by lighting off the biggest fireworks.
