The young couple travelled the western states from Yuma, AZ to Washington state and although their marriage ended in divorce, they had 3 children. In 1961, Nona met Wesley Victor Wampole at the Pete’s Drive-In in Great Falls and they were together until his passing in 1973. The couple added 3 more children to the family and many more adventures through various towns in Montana until Nona moved her family back to Great Falls following Wesley’s passing.

Nona held different jobs throughout the years, she was a bartender, waitress and saleswoman. Her time in retail sales took her to different stores around Great Falls, though her time at Hoglund’s was most precious. Jene dedicated 29 years to the store and to her customers until she retired in late 2017. In her spare time, Jene loved puzzles, sewing for her customers as well as creating her own wardrobe and spending time with family.
