GREAT FALLS — Waggin' Tails Optimist Club is a relatively new volunteer and community service organization in Great Falls.

The group formed in February of 2019 to support events in Great Falls that benefit youth and pets in the community.

Organizers say the club started out with the goal of "Fun...Friends...And Fur"

Waggin' Tails was started by members of the Uptown Optimist Club as well as members of the Maclean Animal Adoption Center board of directors. Their mission statement: "Enhance the community and it's youth with opportunity to help & serve animals by providing interactive programs, service projects & educational opportunities. Fun, Friends & Fur!"

They are excited about several events coming up in the next few months such as the Cameron's annual Fur Ball, and bringing back a 5K event called Strut Your Mutt.

The club is looking for more members to join and a part of something new.

Shane Neuman says he want to see the club succeed: "This is the first of its kind in the entire world that we know of and we have other communities that are looking at it to see if it's something that can be successful, so we want to make this one the premiere and the most successful to start."
