GREAT FALLS — The giving spirit of the holidays may have passed, but the need remains at the Great Falls Community Food Bank.

“If a human can eat it, we will take it, we have the freezers and the refrigerators, so we take anything and everything," said Shaun Tatarka, the director of the organization.

There is a greater demand for certain items, according to Tatarka.

“Right now, we are really in need of canned chili and canned fruit. That seems to be going out the door at a rapid rate. You know canned chili is kind of a meal, so that’s really important and it's really a hot item and we can’t seem to keep that in."
