Montana road conditions and weather update (Friday, April 6)

Snow-covered and icy roads are causing travel troubles across Montana.

Numerous slide-offs and minor crashes have been reported across the region.

There have been no serious injuries reported.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon on Friday, according to the National Weather Service:

* WHAT: Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the plains and in the valleys, while another 2 to 4 inches are possible in the mountains.
* WHERE: Portions of central, north central, southwest and west central Montana.
* WHEN: Until noon MDT today.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Plan on slippery road conditions, including during the morning commute. Roads are likely icy underneath the snow. Expect reduced visibilities at times. The wet and cold conditions will be difficult on newborn livestock.

The following areas/counties are included: Northern Rocky Mountain Front; Eastern Glacier; Cascade; Central and Southern Lewis and Clark; Eastern Pondera; Southern Rocky Mountain Front; Eastern Teton; Judith Basin; Jefferson; Meagher. 

The warning includes the following locations Logan Pass, Marias Pass, Browning, Heart Butte, Cut Bank, Great Falls, Cascade, Belt, Kings Hill Pass, Helena, Lincoln, MacDonald Pass, Rogers Pass, Brady, Conrad, Bynum, Choteau, Augusta, Fairfield, Dutton, Raynesford, Stanford, Hobson, Montana City, Boulder, Boulder Hill, Elk Park Pass, Homestake Pass, Whitehall, Martinsdale, and White Sulphur Springs
