Showers expected today

A fast moving system approaches with a cold front to the Treasure State today bringing rain and snow showers to parts of Montana.

A few areas across central Montana could possibly see an isolated thunderstorm this afternoon.

Gusty winds and some small hail will be the main threat this afternoon.

Rainfall today is expected to be minimal at the lower elevations.

Gusty winds develop behind a cold front this morning. The strongest winds will occur in eastern Montana. 


Flood concerns continue

Warmer temperatures today will continue the rate of snowmelt. 

Areas that are not experiencing flooding now may begin to see flooding with continued runoff due to snowmelt.

Battle creek near the town of Chinook and the Milk River are areas of concerns.
