Chippewa Cree Law Enforcement on the Rocky Boys Indian Reservation is warning community members of possible gang activity.

In a Facebook post, CCLE says that the gang – known as "OTB" – is being operated by an adult male and has been recruiting teens as young as 14 years of age.

According to CCLE, the group has vandalized public property as well as personal property. They noted that good close neighborhoods are always the best line of defense, and if you see something suspicious, call Law Enforcement at  406-395-4513 or 1-833-739-8477 (1-833-REZTIPS) to report anonymously.

Officer Stormy Adams will be hosting a Community Watch Meeting at the Police Department on May 23rd at 5pm, and this topic will be a main discussion point.

Here is the full text of the CCLE post:

There is a gang that has recently made themselves known as OTB which stands for “Only the Boys”. This gang is being operated by an adult male and has been recruiting our youth as young as 14 years of age. Please keep in mind Law Enforcement is asking for the community’s help in addressing this issue and this group of children. We are doing what we can to disband the group and redirect the youth. We want the community to know that we are working with prosecution on this matter and if you have any information please come forward and speak to us.

We want to also make everyone aware that this group has vandalized public property as well as personal property and we want to help everyone keep their property safe. Good close neighborhoods are always the best line of defense. Look out for one another and if you see something suspicious please call Law Enforcement 395-4513 or 1-833-739-8477 (1-833-reztips) to report anonymously. If you have invested in a security system or video system please make sure to let Law Enforcement know about it as we may be able to utilize it in helping to secure your area of the community. If you have trail cameras (usually used for hunting) you should be able to set them up around your home and use them to help secure your area as well.

There is a segment in the local Law and Order Code called “Gang Related Crime and Criminal Activities”. It states that if two or more persons commit any kind of offenses or are involved in any criminal enterprises under Title IV of the Law and Order code it shall be considered a gang related crime if a person is convicted of a crime. If a person is convicted of a crime under Title IV of the Law and Order code committed for the benefit of, at the direction of or in association with any criminal gang, with the specific intent to promote, further or assist in any criminal conduct by criminal gang members, the penalties for the underlying crime are increased. Minors from age 14 to 18 may be prosecuted as an adult if she/he is involved in gang related criminal activities. Parents or legal guardian of such minor shall be held responsible for their children’s activities. Minors under the age of 14 who involve themselves in gang related crime or criminal activities shall be treated under Title VI of the Law and Order code and parents or legal guardian of such minor shall be held responsible and punished for their children’s activities.

Officer Stormy Adams will be hosting a Community Watch Meeting at the Police Department on May 23rd 2018 at 5pm. This topic will be a main discussion point.
