(GREAT FALLS) Cameron Roullier of Polson died over the weekend after falling during a hike at Mud Lake Falls.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said in a Facebook post that Roullier, 18 years old, died at the scene on Saturday afternoon.

Dispatchers received a call at about 3:45 p.m. that a member of a group that was hiking in the Mud Lake Falls area had slipped on wet rocks, fell into the fast moving water, and was swept over the cliff.

Bell called out Search & Rescue and asked for Two Bear Air to assist in the search for Roullier.

Two Bear Air found the man about two-thirds the way down the cliff face, according to Bell.

A Lake County Search & Rescue rope team worked their way down to the man and recovery was made with the aid of Two Bear Air.

Roullier’s body has been taken to the State Lab in Missoula for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
