(MISSOULA) Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is investigating a reported bear attack that happened in a remote section of the Cabinet Mountains south of Libby.
FWP personnel responded at around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday to the report of a bear attack on an adult woman.
The victim reported the incident and was taken via ambulance to an area along Highway 2, where an ALERT Air Ambulance took her to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
The nature and extent of her injuries has not yet been released.
The Wildlife-Human Attack Response Team is now investigating.
Authorities do not yet know if the bear involved was a grizzly or a black bear.
No other details have been released at this point.
