Children of all ages had their fishing poles and tackle boxes ready for the 25th annual Fishing Day for Youngsters event.
On Saturday, over 1,000 people took part in four different educational booths before getting their hooks in the water at Wadsworth Pond.
They learned about fly tying, different types of fish, knot tying, and casting.
The Great Falls chapter of Walleyes Unlimited gave away free rod and reel outfits or a tackle box to all the kids who completed the educational stations.
Volunteers from Walleyes Unlimited, Fish, Wildlife and Parks, Malmstrom Air Force Base, Missouri River Flyfishers, Community Emergency Response Team for Cascade County, and the fishing clubs at North and East Middle Schools participated.
The next fishing day will happen on June 9 in Lewistown at the city’s Frog Ponds.
