Great Falls Public Schools is warning people about an email scam.
The GFPS posted the following message on Facebook on Thursday morning:
It has come to the attention of GFPS that parents and community members are receiving suspicious emails signed by Great Falls Public Schools staff. Please be advised that these are not coming from GFPS staff but are phishing attempts to entice you to click on links and attachments that may be loaded with malware. DO NOT OPEN THESE LINKS!
The subject of the email varies but may include one of the following:
• Outstanding invoice that is due
• Paypal receipt of a purchased product
• Tracking number of a shipped package
• ACH payment notification
• Payroll reports
Again, do not open the links in these emails even if signed with GFPS personnel names. These are phishing scams. Please delete.
