(UPDATE) Police responded for a welfare check that a man was passed out in the driver’s seat of the car.
When officers arrived, they saw that the man was not passed out, just slumped down looking at his phone. There were children in the back seat who were sweating.
We do not know if the windows of the car were up or down at the time of the incident, or whether there was air conditioning in the car.
The man is being charged with a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child.
The GFPD declined to release the man’s name, or indicate whether he is a relative of the children.
We will check with the GFPD to try to get more details about the case, and post an update.
(1st Report, Thursday, 4 pm) Emergency personnel responded to a report of a child crying in a car in the parking lot in front of Ulta on the Northwest Bypass.
It happened at about 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
We do not yet know if the child had been left alone in the vehicle.
Several police officers and an ambulance from Great Falls Emergency Services responded to the incident.
We are trying to get more information from the GFPD, who are still investigating, and will update you when we get details.
