The trial for Johnathan Wayne Teague, charged with sexual assault of a child in August of 2017, continued on Tuesday in Great Falls.
On Tuesday morning, Teague’s mother was removed from the courtroom for making comments during some of the prosecution’s testimony.
Cascade County Attorney Josh Racki says the court later learned the mother made a credible threat after she left.
On Tuesday afternoon, both sides presented closing arguments to the jury,
The state says that Teague knew what he did was wrong and convinced the victim to tell people he was sleeping at the time of the incident.
The defense says that Teague had confused the victim with the mother because he was "dead asleep."
The trial is now in the hands of the jury.
