There’s been a wave of videos shared on Facebook in recent weeks featuring law enforcement officers participating in what is known as the Lip Sync Challenge. Some of their videos have gone viral, like the one showing the officers from the police department in Norfolk, Virginia, performing to "Uptown Funk," which has garnered more than 71 million views since it was posted on Facebook on July 9th.

The trend arrived in Montana a few weeks ago, with the Montana Highway Patrol posting a video of troopers lip-syncing, dancing, and sporting wigs to One Direction’s hit song "What Makes You Beautiful." Click here to watch the MHP video.

In the post, the MHP challenged the Great Falls Police Department to participate in the challenge. The GFPD responded: "Well played Montana Highway Patrol, well played. Challenge accepted! This will be hard to top but we will give it our best shot. GFPD lip sync video coming soon."

On Monday afternoon, the GFPD released its video, which features a Maroon 5 song called, "Girls Like You."

In a Facebook post, the GFPD said: "We dedicate this to everyone behind the badge. We recognize that no officer serves alone, that behind every badge there is a strong support system that sacrifices and enables an officer to carry out their duties to protect and serve. Thank you to the spouses, life partners, parents/grandparents, extended family members, friends, and everyone who keeps the house running when a shift is unexpectedly extended, who keeps a plate warm until midnight on Thanksgiving, or who listens when we need to talk."

The GFPD noted that everyone involved in the project donated their time and resources. They closed by challenging the officers of the Missoula Police Department and the Livingston Police Department to create their own video.
