Nichole Therese Lewis has been charged with obstructing justice after allegedly harboring Neil Wilson Bird, who was wanted on several felony warrants, in her residence.

Court documents state that a Great Falls Police officer was investigating a suspicious vehicle on the 3300 block of 11th Alley South when he heard Lewis yelling into a broken door at her residence.

Lewis told the officer that she had been locked out. The officer knew Bird was staying at the residence and asked Lewis several times if he was inside.

According to court documents, Lewis said Bird was not inside and refused to cooperate.

Bird was located during a search of the residence and Lewis was arrested for felony obstructing justice. She has eight misdemeanor theft convictions, two obstructing a peace officer convictions, and a pending trial for partner/family member assault.

Her bond was requested to be set at $1,500. A booking photo for her was unavailable at this time.

(August 5, 2018) Neil Wilson Bird allegedly broke a window and escaped from a police car while being taken to the Cascade County Detention Center on Sunday.

According to the Great Falls Police Department, Bird had been arrested on felony warrants and was handcuffed in the backseat of a GFPD patrol car that was stopped at the intersection of 10th Avenue South and 2nd Street South.

He was handcuffed from behind, but managed to slide his hands around his legs to position his hands in front of him.

Bird then smashed the window of the police car, unlocked the door from the outside, and jumped out of the car.

He then ran handcuffed to the nearby Town Pump along 10th Avenue South at 4th Street South and tried to steal a vehicle parked at a gas pump, according to the GFPD.

Two bystanders were able to detain him until police officers arrived.

Bird was checked out by medical personnel at the scene and taken back into police custody.

He has been charged with escape, obstructing, criminal mischief, and attempted theft (motor vehicle), along with his original warrants, which are unknown at this time.

According to the Montana Department of Corrections, Bird has a felony conviction in Missoula County for theft.
