(1st Report, 2:16 p.m.) We have received several reports that there is large police presence near 11th Avenue South and 18th Street, and the Target store on 20th Street.
We have also received reports that a helicopter is circling overhead in the area, and that the High-Risk Unit vehicle from the GFPD has been sent to the area.
We have a reporter heading there and will keep you updated.
(UPDATE, 2:21 pm) Several police cars are in the area, and have blocked off some of the roads.
People are advised to avoid the area if possible.
We do not yet know what has triggered this activity.
(UPDATE, 2:25 p.m.) At least one person has been handcuffed and taken into custody.
(UPDATE, 2:51 p.m.) The GFPD says that the incident involved a "high-risk search warrant," but no other details have been released at this point. We will update you when we get more details.
