Residents at Eastview and Reflections Memory Care brought their appetite for a cookout and their fishing gear for an afternoon outing at Giant Springs State Park.
All capable residents were invited to enjoy the great outdoors and make some memories. At least half of the unit came out.
The trip to Giant Springs was organized by the facilities’ Life Enrichment coordinators, who aim to enrich the lives of residents through continuing with what residents have done in their lifetime.
Abby Brown, a member of the Life Enrichment team and a trained CNA, said, “It’s a really big deal. They don’t feel like they’re just stuck in one place and there’s other life out there, there’s other things to do, and they don’t have to be stuck in a room at home or something like that.”
Other trips that are offered to the residents include scenic drives, baking, exercising, church trips, and much more. The trips are a great way for residents to get out and about as well as make treasured memories.
