A lightning-sparked fire on Saturday night that burned a house and barn reignited early Sunday morning in Chouteau County.
The fire, along the south side of the Missouri River across from the Virgelle Ferry, started around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday.
Loma, Elm, Big Sandy, Geraldine, and Fort Benton fire agencies responded along with two trucks from the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation.
A home and barn, which were located on Virgelle Ferry Road, are complete losses. No one was in the home at the time of the fire.
The fire is estimated to have burned 2,000 acres. No injuries were reported.
