Eagle Bancorp Montana, Inc., the holding company of Opportunity Bank of Montana, announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Big Muddy Bancorp, including State Bank of Townsend.
Opportunity bank’s acquisition of the State Bank of Townsend will create the fourth largest bank headquartered in Montana.
The bank has approximately $940 million in assets.
Townsend currently operates four branches: Townsend, Dutton, Denton, and Choteau.
Once the deal goes through, Opportunity Bank will have 21 retail branches in Montana.
