The 7th annual Men & Machines Car & Bike Show was held at Benefis Sletten Cancer Institute on Saturday.
There were food trucks, a bounce house for kids, and lots of different styles of cars for people to view.
Teigh Fleury has volunteered for the event every year since the event’s inception.
“I like to do this event because I go to Sletten myself. I have been getting cancer treatment here at Sletten. For me, I like to be able to give back to the community,” Fleury said.
He was diagnosed multiple myeloma in 2014. His cancer returned last year.
“I could not afford most of the cancer care that I get here. I just like to give back and bring community awareness because screening and early detection is key,” Fleury said.
Men & Machines helps promote men’s health through different stations where people can talk with medical experts about preventative health and screening.
Fleury said he knows it can be frightening to see the doctor, but early detection is key when dealing with medical situations.
Benefis Sletten Cancer Institute is located at 1117 29th Street South.
