Man and child killed in Glacier County train-vehicle collision

UPDATE: The Glacier County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday identified 43-year-old Joseph Fisher and 7 year-old Grayson RunningCrane as the occupants of the vehicle.

According to a news release from Glacier County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a vehicle that had been struck by an Amtrak train on Spotted Robe Trail west of Browning.

Several agencies responded to the scene, including Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services, Browning Fire and EMS, the Montana Highway Patrol, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and BNSF Railway Police.

According to Montana Highway Patrol, the investigation has been handed over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

(1st REPORT - December 30, 2025) Two people are dead after a train-vehicle collision west of Browning on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

According to Montana Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just after 1:00 p.m.

A 2009 Chevy Cobalt was involved with the collision on Spotted Robe Trail west of Highway 2 in Glacier County.

The two occupants of the vehicle died in the crash.

Authorities say an investigation is underway. We will update you as we get more information.
