A popular Missoula sandwich shop has closed its doors after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

Staggering Ox reports in a social media post that it is closing its Missoula location on South Russell Street.

"It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the closure of our Missoula store, effective immediately," the post reads.

The restaurant was notified last week by local health officials that an employee has tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee worked over the weekend of June 20-21, as well as Monday, June 22, between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm. If you feel you may have been exposed, or are concerned because you had visited the restaurant during any of these times, you to call the COVID-19 testing hotline at 406-258-4636.

Staggering Ox stated on Friday it plans to reopen after a 14-day self-quarantine.

Another Missoula restaurant, Paradise Falls, also closed late last week after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
