GREAT FALLS — Health officials reported 39 new COVID-19 cases across Montana on Saturday morning, according to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map. Yellowstone County had the highest number of new cases, adding 19. Gallatin County had the second-highest number with five new cases. Teton County reported four new cases.

TOTAL CASES & RECOVERIES: There have now been 1,167 cumulative cases statewide, and 678 people have recovered from the virus.

HOSPITALIZATIONS: There have been 112 hospitalizations due to COVID-19 since the pandemic began (up three since Friday); there are currently 20 patients hospitalized (up three since Thursday.

ACTIVE CASES: The state reports there are currently 466 active COVID-19 cases in Montana, up from 427 on Friday.

TESTING: The number of tests increased by 1,447 over the previous 24-hour reporting period, for a new cumulative state-wide total of 98,950.

DEATHS: Big Horn County reported on Thursday that a woman in her 60s passed away in a hospital due to COVID-19; the cumulative number of deaths in Montana is now 23. There have been six deaths in Toole County, four in Yellowstone County, four in Big Horn County, two in Cascade County, and two in Flathead County. The other deaths have been reported in Gallatin, Lincoln, Madison, and Missoula counties. Prior to Thursday, the most recent death was reported on June 26th.

TETON COUNTY: The Teton County Health Department says that the source of infection for the four new cases has been traced to contact with other confirmed COVID-19 cases, either out of jurisdiction or within Teton County. This brings the total number of cases in Teton County to 10. At this time, all active cases in Teton County have been notified, and are isolating at home. The Teton County Health Department is in the process of completing contact tracing.

CHOUTEAU COUNTY: The Chouteau County Health Department said on Saturday morning that it received confirmation of a positive case, from a different county, that was recently visiting Fort Benton last week. The health department is working to contact everyone who may have been in contact with this person.

CASCADE COUNTY: According to the state data, Cascade County currently has 12 active cases, and a cumulative total of 34. Of those 34 cases, 20 patients have recovered, and two have died.
