GREAT FALLS — Health officials added 89 new COVID-19 cases to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map on Sunday, July 26th.

Yellowstone County had the most new cases Sunday with 29, followed by Flathead County with 16 new confirmed cases; Ravalli, 11; Gallatin, 8; Cascade, 5; Silver Bow, 4; Lake, 3; Lewis & Clark, 3; Madison, 3; Lincoln, 2; Broadwater, 1; Carbon, 1; Jefferson, 1; Roosevelt, 1; Valley, 1.

Numbers reported by the state each day occasionally differ from those reported by county public health departments due to periodic lag times in reporting data to the state. The data below is from the official Montana website on July 26:

  • TOTAL CASES & RECOVERIES: Montana now reports 3,342 cumulative cases statewide, with 2,079 people recovered.
  • HOSPITALIZATIONS: There are currently 62 patients hospitalized. There have been 199 hospitalizations due to COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
  • ACTIVE CASES: The state reports there are currently 1,217 active COVID-19 cases in Montana.
  • TESTING: The number of tests increased by 1,300 over the previous 24-hour reporting period, for a new cumulative state-wide total of 152,315.
  • DEATHS: The cumulative number of deaths in Montana stands at 46.

CASCADE COUNTY: Cascade County reported five new cases on Sunday. There has been a cumulative total of 115 confirmed cases in Cascade County; of those, 42 have recovered, 71 are currently active, and two patients died. The City-County Health Department in Great Falls says that the new cases are attributed to community spread or have been found through contact tracing, and that as in previous cases, these individuals have been isolated and contact investigations are underway. KRTV confirmed on Friday that COVID-19 cases at Malmstrom Air Force Base are included in Cascade County totals; however, due to security concerns, military installations do not release base-specific numbers publicly.
