POLSON — A 16th COVID-19 death has been confirmed in the Mission Valley.
Lake County Public Health reported on Thursday morning that a female in her 60s has passed away due to complications from COVID-19.
The announcement marks the second COVID-19 related death reported in Lake County this week.
No further information is being released.
“We are saddened to announce that a sixteenth Lake County resident has passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection. The health department sends our deepest condolences to their family, friends and loved ones," a social media post states.
Lake County Public Health also reported in its Thursday update that 16 additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed.
There are currently 181 active cases and a total of 1,445 COVID-19 cases including 1,248 recoveries and 16 deaths.
Nine people are hospitalized in Lake County due to COVID-19 as of Thursday morning.
