Montana state health officials reported three additional deaths and 224 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, according to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map.
For the second day in a row the number of additional cases reported set a new record high. On Thursday, the state reported 217 additional cases of the virusand two additional deaths in Yellowstone County.
The state death toll now stands at 146. The three additional deaths were reported in Rosebud County, raising the total number of deaths there to 10.
Flathead and Missoula counties both reported 39 additional cases, followed by Yellowstone County with 31. Roosevelt County added 25 cases, and Rosebud County reported 19 new cases.
Cascade County added 17 cases, and Big Horn County reported nine additional cases. The remaining cases were spread across 20 Montana counties.

The cumulative total number of cases since the pandemic began is now at 9,871. There have been 7,500 recoveries and there are 2,225 active cases across the state.
The number of active cases is highest in Yellowstone County with 841. There are 242 active cases in Cascade County and 204 active cases in Rosebud County.

There are currently 105 people hospitalized for treatment of the virus. The cumulative total number of tests has reached 298,555, an increase of 3,256 during the previous 24-hour reporting period.
