Local health officials are reporting the first COVID-19 related death in the Bitterroot.
Ravalli County Public Health reports that a woman in her 90's passed early Friday morning.
"Public Health wishes to extend our deepest regrets to the family," a social media post states.
Ravalli County has 12 active cases that public health is actively monitoring along with numerous close contacts in quarantine.
Ravalli County Public Health notes that three of those cases are not included in the state count due to their residency.
Local health officials are reminding residents to practice physical distancing, frequent hand washing and wearing a mask in public areas where physical distance cannot be maintained.
Additional COVID-19 related deaths were also reported on both Thursday and Friday in Yellowstone County.
