2 people dead in apparent homicide in Ravalli County

Crash in Missoula linked to Stevensville deaths

(UPDATE) Two people were found dead east of Stevensville on Tuesday night.

Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton told MTN News that this incident may have started as a domestic dispute.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Sheriff Holton confirmed the man taken into custody from the car chase is a suspect in the murders.

Holton says there is no further danger to the public in the area, and the investigation is continuing.



(1st REPORT) A police chase down Missoula's Brooks Street ended in a crash near Southgate Mall Tuesday evening.

According to the Missoula Police Department, the Montana Highway Patrol tried to stop a vehicle near Lolo at around 7:18 p.m.

The vehicle headed north on Highway 93, evaded stop sticks, and drove into Missoula at a high speed.

After losing sight of the vehicle, an officer located the suspect at Southgate Mall and the chase continued until the vehicle crashed at the intersection of Sussex Avenue and Eaton Street.

One male was taken into custody, according to MPD.

No injuries were reported, however, the crash resulted in property damage.

The name of the suspect has not yet been released; we will update you when we get more information.
