GREAT FALLS — Tristan H. Borchert has been charged with raping a young girl several times in Great Falls.
Officers responded in February 2020 to a report of a sexual assault of a 12-year old girl. The child told her parents that Borchert had sexually assaulted her three times in 2019.
Court documents say the child was forensically interviewed and disclosed three incidents in which Borchert had sexual intercourse with her. She said the incidents happened between July 2019 and November of 2019. Borchert was 20 years old at the time.
After being read his Miranda Rights, Borchert agreed to speak with detectives.
According to the charging documents, Borchert initially denied any inappropriate touching, but then claimed he may have "accidentally touched her butt." Borchert then admitted to inserting his penis into her vagina and having sex on three occasions.
Borchert is charged with three felony counts of sexual intercourse without consent (the legal term for rape in Montana).
